Wonderful Carved Walnut Nautical Clock & Barometer Compendium by Henry Cross (c.1860)
This is visually stunning and is extremely well hand crafted in walnut. It comprises of a carved anchor frame with dolphins or leviathans, fitted with a fully working 8 day clock, barometer and temperature gauge and is in good condition with the odd imperfection commensurate with its age including a shortened hour hand.
It’s made by famous clockmaker Henry Cross of Bristol, probably for one
of the many rich ship traders in Bristol during the 19thC. It measures 12”W x 19”H and comes with its original key.
