This wonderful timepiece has just emerged, trunk first from the depths of the M&K workshop and now works perfectly, keeping good time. The body of the elephant is either cast in solid brass or bronze with polished toes and tusks. It stands on a painted & textured bronze platform with a worn baize to the underside but apart from that, it’s in great condition with a good worn patina.
The brass swinging timepiece has been sympathetically polished, including the painted clockface which had some staining but has now been cleaned off. I’ve replaced two of the rear screws as the threads were worn but apart from that, it’s totally original. Overall, It stands 11”H x 9”W x 5”D and is mesmerising to watch with a very quiet tick.
