WW2 Royal Navy HMS Rodney Mounted Salvaged Bronze Naval Gun Inkwell c.1948
This fabulous piece of the “Rodney” has been through the M&K workshop and has been mounted on a polished piece of mahogany.
The history of this Nelson Class battleship is worldwide renowned, most notably with its major role in sinking the Kriegsmarine battleship “Bismarck“. After the end of the war in 1948, the ole girl was sold off for scrap, which is where fabulous items like this were crafted as souvenirs.
It’s quite weighty and measures 8” x 4” x 2.5”H, not including the base and has a twin pot inkwell visible within the recess of the gun when the embossed lid is lifted.
