Superb WW2 Air Ministry RAF Airfield Scramble Or Fire Bell With Stand d.1940
This amazing piece of WW2 RAF history is in good used condition and was used to warn ground staff, pilots & crew of fires, air raids, or for fighter pilots to scramble.
It has a great used patina and is embossed to the front with the Kings Crown and letters “AM” for the Air Ministry and is dated 1940. The shoulder of the bell housing also has a GVI cypher and is fitted with its original, well used clanger and mounted in a purpose built stand, adorned with a period faint red, white & blue bell rope. Overall it measures just shy of 12”H and has a 10” bell flare, with the stand measuring 38”H x 18”W x11”D.
