Favourite find of the month so far, is this….

Superb Silver Plated Bronze Royal Navy HMS Cumberland 'X' Turret 8” Gun Mount c.1930’s
The Cumberland is no stranger to our page, especially for her WW2 service, her involvement in the "Battle of the River Plate”, and earning the Arctic, North Africa, Sabang & Burma battle honours.
The County class cruiser was built for the RN by Vickers Armstrong, Barrow in Furness and commissioned in 1928. After the war, Cumberland returned to the U.K, and was then refitted at Devonport (1949–1951) for further service as a gunnery trials ship.
She lost her 8-inch turrets, and for a few years had a prototype dual 6-inch automatic turret in 'B' position, and a prototype automatic dual 3-inch turret in 'X' position.
Also, for the 1956 film “The Battle of the River Plate”, Cumberland played herself, arriving with unexpected speed from the Falklands after the battle, to replace the damaged HMS Exeter.
HMS Cumberland finally paid off in 1958, arriving at Cashmore's, Newport, on 3 November 1958 for scrapping.
This 5” x 6” silvered bronze gun turret, which swivels, is in fine fettle and nicely presented on a top coat grey base and mahogany plinth. The plinth if fitted with a cartouche engraved with “HMS CUMBERLAND 1929-33 “X” 8” GUN TURRET”, which was her further most aft gun mount.
Great addition to any collection!
