Superb Royal Naval Coopered Rum Barrel Stick Stand with Bronze Plug Lock (c.1850)
This great looking rum barrel has a wonderful used patina commensurate with its age. It is totally original and still retains the barrel end that has been removed to make it a useful stick or brolly stand. It’s coopered with steel bands and has the original plug, which is protected by a hinged bronze clasp and ring, just add a padlock to stop those pesky ratings helping themselves to the amber nectar within.
It stands 2ftH x 14” x 11” and with the end panel refitted, it could easily be a good RN rum barrel display again.
