Antique Boxed Royal Navy Henry Hughes & Son Ltd, Husun Celestial Globe d.1920
This excellent quality brass-hinged, dovetailed stained pine box containing a Husun Star Globe is in good used condition. Made by H. Hughes & Son Ltd. Company of London and is dated 1920.

The globe (Serial No 1679), is mounted in the lower half of the box in a horizontal brass meridian hemisphere with removable brass markers & quadrant rings that fit over the globe in conjunction with the hemisphere, these quadrants measure altitude and azimuth. Instructions for use are printed on a paper label mounted to the inside of the box lid, which is also stamped by the Admiralty Compass Dept, dated 1954.
The box with press locks to the front and flush brass handle to the top, measures 10.5” Sq and has a faint MOD Broad Arrow to the underside.
